love your friday favourites mandy. re: the violin player, i think that most people like something because they are told by others or the media that it's nice or good. if another talented musician, or someone who is very informed about music had heard it, i think they would have stopped dead in their tracks. maybe it's also about context- we're not expecting to hear a great piece played to us on our way somewhere so we don't 'hear' it. anyway, i could go on and on, it's very interesting!

It reminded me of that happiness documentary series too. The children seemed to notice something special was going on, even when being pulled away by hurried parents. At what point do we lose that and how do we get it back?
